so the free ride event of the year is finally here again and will be taking place from the 15th-16th of December

Sessions 09 was a sick event with all the top riders of the country just riding (thats right, not competing) the cool thing about sessions was, that everyone gets to just have a session on the rail and behind the boat and at the end of the weekend all of us riders got to vote for a best rider survivor style (with chalk boards and flames and close up interviews on why we chose our specific rider).

last year was really fun and the turn out was great with DC Building a massive 14m rooftop rail for us riders to session.

this year DC have helped out once again by contributing some funding towards a Kicker for the crowd.

the event takes place at the Umtamvuna River Lodge which is Kevin Dry’s spot just next to Port Shepstone. It’s such a sick venue with loads of lodges and a nice estuary out the front door, (although i also crap myself riding there after watching that discovery special on bullsharks and their estuary breeding habits in Durban) but no ones been eaten before me, so the chances of me being the first one are pretty slim i reckon.

either way Kev’s set up is sick and he has gone through a huge effort to make this event happen.

last year Devon Nassif took the Overall Rider, Shaun Faccio took Boat and Bryan Loggenberg took the rails section, so I’m sure these boys will be shredding hard defending their titles this year again.

I fly up on Friday morning with my buddy Matt Buys for a Fox demo in the Richards Bay Canals on the 11th and 12th which should be pretty sick! after that hopefully we’ll get some time to film some silly stuff like a bit of riding at Durban’s Wavehouse. on tuesday the 14th we will be road tripping through to Port Shepstone for Sessions!

All in all i think this will turn out to be a pretty rad trip, and I’m Amped!
